A Doodly alternative, with AI
Doodly alternative: a whiteboard video made for you.
In Doodly you build the video yourself: drag drawings onto a canvas, pick a hand, time it, record a voiceover. Frametell takes a different route. You hand it a topic or your material, approve a storyboard, and it writes, voices and draws the whole film.

Hand it what you have
A one-line topic, or a PDF, slides, a Word file, an EPUB, Markdown or images.
- 02
Approve the storyboard
Before anything is drawn, the director shows every page: what it shows and what it says. Cut, reorder or rewrite, then approve.
- 03
It writes, voices and draws
The script is written and voiced with an AI voice, and every page is drawn in the style you pick, Whiteboard or one of about 29 others, timed to the words.

Which one fits you
Frametell fits if you start from material
You have a lesson, a report, a deck or just a topic, and you want a finished narrated explainer without placing a single drawing. The AI writes the script too, so you don’t need one first.
Doodly fits if you want to place every drawing
Its site describes a canvas you drag doodle images onto, a timeline, a choice of drawing hands, whiteboard, blackboard and glassboard looks, and a voiceover you record in the app or upload. If you want that control, or your own voice on the film, Doodly is the better choice.
What Frametell doesn’t do
No timeline, no clip-art library, no uploading your own voice-over, and no characters with lip-sync. You change a film by pointing at a page and saying what to change.
Not for realistic people, characters or photo-to-video. Frametell draws explainers; it doesn’t film.

Questions
Is there a free Doodly alternative?
Frametell is free to start: 500 credits when you sign up, about 2–3 one-minute films. After that, plans start at $20 a month. Films made on Free carry a small Frametell mark.
Can AI make a whiteboard video for me?
Yes. Give Frametell a topic or a document and it proposes a storyboard. Once you approve it, it writes the narration, voices it and draws every page in a whiteboard style, timed to the words.
Can I use my own drawings or my own voice?
No. Frametell draws every page itself and narrates with AI voices. If you need your own images on screen or your own recorded voice, a tool like Doodly, where you build the video by hand, is the better fit.
How do I change something I don’t like?
Point at the page and say what should be different: a picture, a line of the script, the order. There is no timeline to edit.
Can I use the videos commercially?
Yes, on your channel, in a course or for a client. Your uploads are never used to train models.
